Written for the
occasion of my Godson's first birthday
Don't you
worry when the moon is high and shining,
Don't you worry when shadows cloud your sight;
If you listen you shall hear, there ain't nothing to fear,
Close your eyes now, 'till the morning light.
The world is
turning and brings a brand new day,
What you'll be learning, ain't no one can say;
May you find where you belong, may your angel keep you
strong,
Close your eyes now and dream this night away.
The future is
out there calling,
Soon it's gonna take you by the hand,
Some dreams are flying high, some dreams are falling,
Some will vanish, like footprints in the sand.
Rest your
head now, watch the candle burning,
See that flame flicker in the night,
There's magic in the air when you have someone to care
And tell you everything will be alright.
The future is
out there calling,
All too soon it takes you by the hand,
To wake you on some far off distant morning,
As you look back through the eyes of a man.
It's quiet
now, sheep have stopped their bleating,
A fresh wind in the field smells of rain;
The night bird on the wing will comfort you and sing,
Close your eyes now and dream this night again.
